There is no other, Randy Misekow is the preferred restoration and paint professional for all our vehicles. We only work with the most qualified people in the industry. His keen eye for perfection pays off every time when people see their reflections in the side of a smooth sleek body and mirror finish paint job.
In 1968, the original Hemi cars came from the factory as primer gray with black fiberglass fenders and hood. The new owners would usually paint them in their racing colors and schemes.
This vehicle was completely torn down to the body shell. The entire body, bumpers and bumper brackets were the only parts re-used and restored from the original vehicle.
Exterior:
The original body had minor rust in the wheel lips when we bought it. It had a small shallow dent in the left quarter (behind the door) about the size of a dessert plate. The rest of the body was good just five minor door dings along the sides. The front floor pans were rusted and required replacing them with new ones.
After media blasting the body several small areas of rust were revealed in the quarter panels. The quarter panels were replaced with new ones instead of fixing the rust damage. Otherwise, the rest of the body was rust free.
The level of the vehicles we build requires that the vehicle be restored better than new condition on top as well as the bottom. His keen eye for perfection pays off every time when people see their reflections in the side of a smooth sleek body and mirror finish paint job.
The exterior, interior, and underbody metal was completely finished to a smooth surface. The floor panels, wheel wells, frame, interior, and exterior body panels were restored better than new to a high quality show condition.
Paint condition: flawless 10
Factory 1970 Plymouth Rally Red, base coat clear coat. Three coats of the original Rally Red paint and five coats of clear were applied to the exterior. The interior and underbody were painted black. Randy took an additional step to guarantee a smooth exterior finish by wet sanding after the third coat of clear and then sprayed the remaining two coats. The body and paint quality is superb and something you would never see from the factory.
Interior
The interior is thoroughly cleaned of all debris, dust, and solvents. To help keep the overall interior cooler and quieter, Dynamat sound deadener and heat barrier is installed on the floor and insulation is installed on the roof ceiling. The dash has been completely restored and each gauge has been rebuilt back to its original working condition. The back seat was eliminated from the original Super Stock A cars and a four-point roll cage was installed from the factory. The battery was moved into the original location in the trunk compartment.
The interior floor was completely carpeted and a panel installed to close out the rear trunk area from the interior. A new original headliner, interior door panels, moldings, and driver/passenger seats were installed. The seats are from an original Barracuda and have been fully restored. The traditional van style seats that were originally used in the Super Stock A cars did not seem suitable for this street version of this original, so it was decided to add a better seat for longer cruising comfort. To enhance the interior, notice the wood grain steering wheel, a very rare option offered in '68.

Drivetrain
Moser Dana 60 rear end with 411 gear and 4 link suspension. While the vehicle was at paint, the rear end was painted and assembled with the new rear brakes and suspension. This assembly was then installed as a complete module instead of installed as individual components.
Tremec manual 5-speed transmission w/o.d. was the right choice for smooth shifting and durability to handle the power of the 426 Hemi.
Powertrain
Back in the days, the Hemi Plymouth Barracudas and Dodge Darts were king of the drag strip. The 426 Hemi was nicknamed the "elephant engine" at the time, a reference to its far-from-compact dimensions and extraordinary power. These Hemi packaged vehicles turned times in the ten second range at an estimated 135 mph. Today, the legacy lives on, burning up the strip with times in the eight second range at an estimated 150 mph in the SS/AA class.
All American Muscle Cars, Ltd. ™ brings back the past with new technology and performance packaged in the original wrapper of a 1968 Hemi Barracuda. The new Mopar 426 Hemi crate engine provides the baseline for the engine package that is used in the AAMC '06/'68 Super Stock Hemi Barracuda.
The main objective for All American Muscle Cars™ is to inconspicuously introduce the new technology while retaining the original appearance, where possible. Therefore, the new 426 crate engine's manifold and polished valve covers will be replaced with a cross ram manifold with dual Holley carbs, and black crinkle painted manifolds found under the hood of those infamous Hemi cars of yester year.
The AAMC '06/'68 Super Stock Hemi Barracuda took the "elephant engine" name one step further. To best describe this vehicle we chose the name "Rogue Elephant" defined as: "An elephant that has separated from the herd and roams about alone, in which state is very savage." Just like our vehicle it stands out from the crowd with it's fierce power and looks. It's aggressive stance dares to challenge anyone who stands in it's way.
